What to do

  1. This week: send the U-PIC and CIS quote requests (drafts ready). Ask each to confirm in writing that collectible notes are covered at sale value.
  2. Until a policy is bound: ship boxes over about $2,500 (about 53 a month) by USPS Registered Mail. Keep smaller boxes as they are.
  3. Once a policy is in place: stop buying UPS declared value on currency boxes.
  4. In parallel: submit the TikTok questions through Seller Center. A written yes makes TikTok Shipping Protection an option for single order buyers who ship on the TikTok label.

Rules that could sink a claim

TikTok's prohibited list (updated 10/22) names gold and silver certificates, with no collectible exemption stated.
TikTok bans "ungraded and circulating" money. Raw modern star and fancy serial notes may fall under it.
About 5,850 recent packages are listed under a coins category though most product is currency.
Insurers deny claims when the outside of the box hints at contents. Keep labels and return address plain.
